Last of the poems for the public eye. Yay, he's almost left us alone!
What is a Flag? (Rebellious teenager at his best ^_^)
What is a flag?
A symbol of a nation?
I see it more as
A symbol for hatred
Wave a flag in my face
And declare it sacred
Never to disgrace
Or you’re the enemy
A flag is just a banner
Made of cotton or wool
Woven and dyed
It means nothing to me
The idea of a nation,
That’s what we need to stand for
But people say a pledge to the flag
As if they think it means something
But in reality it means nothing
People drone on every day like an old song
‘I pledge allegiance’ most don’t even know how to define it
They don’t even find it ironic that God’s in there
What has God done for us?
Separated from the state, or so they say
President’s having us all sit down and pray
It’s ridiculous, and so I say,
Make your own pledge, and stand in your own way
Make a statement, and tell people what you think
Don’t conform, stand out from the crowd
Shout it out loud!
“I pledge allegiance
To no flag!
These States are not United.
This Republic barely stands!
One nation,
Ignored by God,
Split in two,
With Liberty and Justice for the rich!”
Won’t Be Missed
Hear my heart shatter and fall?
Now I know I’ve lost it all.
Lying alone in my bed,
I cover up my saddened head.
I am shamed, what have I done?
I’ve given up; they have won.
I fall now, into sleep.
Never was I one to weep.
These tears are born in sorrow,
I know they won’t be missed.
But with no hope tomorrow,
They’ll always exist.
Grab a rope or grab a gun,
Maybe Tylenol is fun.
End it all, here and now.
Make it stop; just show me how.
There’s a river down the street
Where my death and I can meet.
No time to talk, I have to go.
All these things I shouldn’t know…
These thoughts are born in silence,
I know they won’t be missed.
But with this endless violence,
They’ll always exist.
