Nearly all of my poems in one post! Muahahahaha… Nearly. Pah. I must try harder next time.
A Look At Love
Another day begins
In this restless life.
Another day of sorrow;
Another day of strife.
Lives drift by without a care,
And no one seems to know
The path that must be taken
To make the poison slow.
Lost and cold, I am alone,
With none to console me.
I wrap myself in the shadows,
Wishing to be free.
Hopeless, I carry on,
Knowing all things end.
Happiness is for the others,
For me, I've scars to mend.
Hope glimmers in the distance,
A small but shining light.
They told me love is for the fools,
I never thought them right.
Yet here I am, alone and cold,
With no one to help me.
I wrap myself within the shadows,
Begging to be free.
Slavery is abundant
In the hearts of men.
Happiness is just illusion;
If only I'd known this then.
Choice
I used to walk in the path of light,
But now I fear that I walk at night.
I dart and I hide, every day;
It’s all I can do to get away.
I had no choice;
My path was chosen.
So now I walk,
Lest I be frozen.
I had it all in my past life,
But now I encounter only strife.
Using what little strength is left,
I try to avoid imminent death.
I had no choice;
My path was chosen.
So now I walk,
Lest I be frozen.
Once, I remember passing you,
But you were lucky; passing through.
This path is my fatal choice;
I have lost all but my voice.
I had no choice;
My path was chosen.
So now I walk,
Lest I be frozen.
Conformity (This one is published. Somewhere… Trust me.)
You just march, not knowing,
Uncaring where you’re going,
As long as you’re not alone.
It’s follow the leader,
Never dare wander,
Lest you be left behind.
Because the river, it’s fast,
And the people won’t last,
And you’ll never find your true love.
So become the leader,
And never dare wonder,
About what you left behind.
So then the river meets shore,
And the people are yours,
And they shall be your true love.
Yet still they march, now knowing,
Uncaring where they’re going,
As long as they’re not alone.
Gently
Born.
Small body, small mind
A baby at sight
Fragile and weak
Hold me gently
Or I might break
Grow.
Young body, young mind
A child at sight
Fragile and weak
Hold me gently
Or I might break
Still growing.
Teen body, teen mind
A child inside
Fragile and weak
Hold me gently
Or I might break
Grown.
Teen body, no mind
No child in sight
Broken and weak
Dropped me gently
And laughed as I fell
Goal Setting
Claw your way to the top
Give it all that you’ve got
Don’t give up and don’t look down
You’re floating high above the ground
You set a goal and then you worked
You’re almost on the top of Earth
Higher and higher on the mountain you climb
Unwittingly working to the end of time
At the peak you see the dawn
And realize now your life is gone
The goal took all this time to beat
And you must go down with its defeat
I Want This Love Forever
Please don’t leave me here,
Dreaming of your love.
You held me close one time,
But once is not enough.
I need you here forever,
To catch all of my tears.
Don’t leave me all alone,
Surrounded by my fears.
I’ll pull you to me,
And kiss your cheek,
And we’ll be strong together.
Without you, I am weak,
I want this love forever.
Dearest, you complete me,
You fill a hole within.
Tell me you still love me,
My faith is wearing thin.
I beg of you, come back to me,
Please heal these wounds of mine.
And even if you don’t return,
I’ll love you for all of time.
I’ll pull you to me,
And kiss your cheek,
And we’ll be strong together.
Without you, I am weak,
I want this love forever.
Insanity
People walk across the room
I dream about their sudden doom
They give me looks that try to scare
They don’t know that I don’t care
I whisper to myself at night
About the sudden dreaded plight
It’s coming soon, can’t you feel
I know the voices must be real
Why do they talk this way?
What do they really say?
Can’t I just get away?
Do they really have to stay?
They locked me up inside a room
It’s all dark and filled with gloom
They tell me I’ll be okay
Why can’t they just go away?
I try to hide but they find me
Soon I know, they will bind me
To this cell of darkened things
They don’t know what it brings
Why do they talk this way?
What do they really say?
Can’t I just get away?
Do they really have to stay?
I’ve broken free of my bonds
Now the seal’s finally gone
I can run and be free
What’s a little pain to me?
I knew the end would really hurt
Now I’m buried in the dirt
It could have gone a different way
But I had to be free today
Now they don’t talk that way
And now they’ve got nothing to say
I finally got myself away
They didn’t really have to stay
Living is a Leap of Faith
Every morning when you wake up,
You are certain the world around you is real,
And that it is stable.
You don’t doubt for a minute that the bed you slept in is real,
Or wonder if the food you ingest really exists.
It all comes naturally to simply accept things.
Have you ever doubted the realism of humans?
No, most have not.
You just blindly accept that all around you exists, for it is tangible.
But is it all really there?
What if everything was a figment of your imagination?
Every person, every event, every feeling: All in your head.
The immense feeling of loneliness would kill the average human,
And the complexity of the idea is nearly incomprehensible.
Yet some dare delve into the unknown, and question reality itself.
“I think, therefore I am,” it means you can only prove that you exist.
And thus, it is ridiculous to say that only fools fall in love,
Or that religions are impossible to believe.
Every day, people believe in even more extraordinary things:
An entire world, that could in all reality be nonexistent, is believed.
Living is a leap of faith.
Mountain of Memories
Every stone builds you up,
Whether jagged or smooth.
And if each is remembered,
You shall be firm and strong,
Always growing.
Sometimes the jagged ones hurt to keep,
But all must be known.
For if even one stone is forgotten,
The mountain that is you
Shall crumble.
One More Day
Not here, not now,
It can’t end like this.
I never even got to
Experience bliss.
Surely this is some mistake,
Some celestial joke.
I have risks left to take,
Maybe your calendar broke.
This is all wrong,
Please let me stay!
I’ve one more song,
Give me one more day!
Don’t cut me off,
Don’t send me away.
Give me one day,
Just let me stay!
What if I saved the world?
Or maybe took some chance.
What if some new adventure unfurled?
Or maybe I learned to dance.
Don’t take away my hope,
Give me another day.
I’ll make everything right,
Just please don’t take me away.
The Fire Inside
Sticks and stones can’t break my bones,
Words will never hurt me.
Beat me down as best you can,
But I will never fall.
Yes, through it all, I will not fall.
The fire inside burns…
One too many blows are taken,
Words have never hurt me.
Kick me while I’m on the ground,
I will always rise.
Yes, after it all, I will always rise.
The fire inside flickers…
My bones have finally broken,
Tough words at last are spoken.
Bleeding on the ground, I fell,
And I will never rise.
Yes, I made the fall, and I will never rise.
The fire inside dies…
Defeated.
The Journey
Empty streets filled with death,
Cadavers that don’t take breath.
Society crumbles as mortals falter,
Is this all the world has to offer?
Wander, my child, don’t be afraid;
Do not linger on the hate and decay.
Continue the journey we all began,
You’re not alone; I give you my hand.
A golden light shines ahead,
Calling forth souls of the dead.
Endless masses crowd the stairs,
Headed toward heaven’s lair.
Push past the specters and rise above,
Look with envy upon those who love.
Climb the steps towards serenity,
To reach the end of eternity.
The climb seems endless,
And your legs want to fail.
No solace is visible,
But there’s a need to prevail.
Higher and higher the blessed stairs wind;
The souls of the holy continue to climb.
At last, the top is in sight!
But once it is reached, cease all life.
Think Again
Dedicated to all those I care about…
Sometimes, things get tough,
And I feel all alone.
No one seems to care about me at all.
And I think life ain’t worth living
But then I think about you,
And I think again.
Sometimes I’m pushed too hard,
Not living up to expectations
To be a loving child; an obedient slave.
And I think jail wouldn’t be that bad,
But then I think about you,
And I think again.
You’re my sanity, my clarity,
The ones who keep me here.
And when things get too tough,
And I think I’ve had enough,
I just think about my you,
And then I think again.
Untitled
A daily battle,
Two armies fight.
Sleeping by day,
And dueling at night.
The bane of God,
Against an army of one.
A year so far,
But war's just begun.
Armed with words;
Defended by hate.
They continue assault,
And hope falls to fate.
Their greatest wish,
Is for me to give in.
But I will live on;
I shan't let them win.
